Now that the ESX 3.5 DVD is released, i wanted to make you all aware that we are now working on dubbing the ESX 3.5 Training DVD in the German language for our friends in Germany. We do not have a release date yet, but i wanted you all to know that it will be available and if anyone has ideas and thinks dubbing it in a different language would work or if you would like to dub it. please email me or post your comments here. elias@eliaskhnaser.com

With the release of VMware ESX 3.5 (notice I am not using the word Server anymore abiding by the new naming convention! J) VMware expanded physical memory support on ESX hosts from 64GB with ESX Server 3.0 to 256 GB with ESX 3.5. So now I am at a client site deploying some really awesome HP Proliant DL580 G5 with a 128 GB Ram and ESX 3.5. Once the installation was completed and all the configuration in place I noticed that the available physical memory on this host was 64GB and that the host was able to see 128 GB but 64GB were blocked as if they were in use

In the next few days EliasKhnaser.com will be going offline for a face lift. When it comes back online we will have 2 new DVD Training Courses being offered, VMware ESX Server 3.5 and Virtual Center 2.5 and also Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager. In the making are some cool titles as well and for those people that emailed me, yes yes and yes there will be tons of Citrix stuff coming out this year. I have a sweet spot for Citrix and you will see tons of content on it. For those interested in creating content for us, drop me a note and let's talk. i can't record all topics you know :)

The answer is simple, if VMware is not careful they absolutely will become the next Netscape. That being said, the more I think about this question, the more I can think of ways for VMware to thwart the Microsoft and friends attack. VMware needs to "go to the mattresses" they need to fight back and VMware has the capabilities and so far they seem to have the will and determination to do so.
